  • Big tunes here - my pick of the litter is "Synapse" (by Keaton + E. Pearce, not sure who the latter is) - mysterious intro leads into a huge amen drop with shredding noises and some pure evil synth stabs that come in after. Great breaks, wonderful structure, drives the dancefloor mad. The Stakka & Skynet remix of "Shrapnel" is also a huge, huge roller. "Carnage" is a techy tune typical of the era, but it's solid. "Syndrome" (strangely pressed at 33⅓ as opposed to the rest of the EP) is the only real letdown here; boring, but they can't all be winners. Overall, an excellent double-pack in an era of drum & bass when there was tons of records coming out every week, and usually on these 2x12" releases there was only one worthwhile tune spread among 4-6.
